FACEMASKS IN CHURCHPlease note that as from 8th August the latest Government changes require you to wear a facemask in Places of Worship, unless you are medically exempt. The Baptist Union has queried whether the use of scarves, face coverings or visors is acceptable, and the Government's response has been "No" - only Face Masks are permissable. Please note that David, our Minister, is exempt because of health issues, and will not be wearing a face mask in church. If you come to church for Prayer, he will stay more than 2 metres away from you at all times. The good news is that one of our members, Ann Holdsworth, has been making masks in support of local charities. Ann says :- "Following the Government's directive that face coverings should be worn, I have been making face masks and have raised £200 which is being sent to Yorkshire Air Ambulance. I have been charging £5 for the masks which are made of 3 layers of cotton fabric, including a pocket into which a tissue or kitchen paper can be inserted as an additional filter. The masks have an enclosed wire to give a good fit on the nose. The money raised from these masks will go to Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue at Grassington."If you would like to order one (or more) please let us know and we will pass your order onto Ann.
