Saturday, 21st October, 2017, saw the church basement packed for our annuam Mammoth Book Sale.

We had our largest attendance ever, and thousands of books were available to buy at very reasonable prices!

Everyone went away happy, as shoppers got a bargain, and the church were able to raise over £1200 (a new record), which will be donated to the charity "Education for Life", which helps disadvantaged children in Kenya.

Our thanks go to Colin, Dorothy, and all the team for all their hard work, and you can now have a rest before next year!

Thursday, 19th October, 2017, saw Ilkley Baptist Church host a special lecure to mark the 500th anniversary of the Lutheran Reformation.  This was a "Churches Together in Ilkley" event, and we were blessed by the presence of not one, but two, Lutheran Bishops.

Walter Jagucki, Bishop Emeritus of the Lutheran Church of GB, chaired the evening, and introduced the Right Reverend Doctor Martin Lind, the current Bishop of the British Lutheran Church, who delivered a lecture on the "impact of the Lutheran Reformation".

On a terribly wet evening, over 80 people attended the event, which was very informative and has certainly been well received.
