CHRISTIAN RESPONSE TO MANCHESTER BOMBING

The bomb that went off in Manchester has affected every one of us.  As a church, we have prayed for those touched by the tragedy.

As individuals, we have also reflected and prayed for peace, and hope that this is the last act of terrorism that we will see, however unlikely that may be.

Two Baptist Ministers have published their own reflection on the subject, which are well worth a read.

GLEN MARSHALL is co-principal of the Northern Baptist College, which is situated in South Manchester. You can read Glen's reflections by clicking here.

PHIL JUMP is the Regional Minister Team Leader for the North Western Baptist Association, which covers the Manchester area.  You can read Plil's reflections by clicking here.

BRIAN SHERWIN

Brian Sherwin, a long term member of Ilkley Baptist Church, sadly passed away on Saturday, 13th May, after many years of poor health, bravely borne.

The photo of Brian, in front of his friends from the Wednesday Fellowship, was taken last year at our trip to Caring for Life, at Cookridge.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Diane, Deborah and the family at this time.

We said goodbye to Brian on Wednesday, 24th May, starting with a Committal at Skipton Crematorium.  This was then followed by a service of thanksgiving at Ilkley Baptist Church.
